Japanese Foods

Many people like Italian and Japanese food, both of which are very popular in the United States. There are some similarities between them. However, the table setting of these foods and the tool used to eat them are quite different. In addition, the cooking style and ingredients used are also considerably different. Therefore, Italian food and Japanese food have some resemblances, yet they also have considerable differences.

First of all, Italian food and Japanese food have some similarities. Both of foods use a lot of vegetables, and their staple food is made of cereal, which is wheat and rice. If you eat them, you can have a lot of vegetable at one time. That�s because their foods contain many different vegetable dishes. When I eat Italian food, a salad is served with the meal. Japanese food also serves pickle of vegetable. Both types of food also use a variety of flavoring which use herbs and spices. It is very healthy for the body, and the smell from the dishes is appetizing. Therefore, they are bringing good health to the people. In addition, their foods eat pasta, bread or rice as staple food, but some countries eat meat as it. Meat dish sometimes has high calorie, so their food is healthier than others. Accordingly, Italian food and Japanese food have some similarities, and both of foods are very healthy and nutritious.

Although, Italian food and Japanese food have some resemblance, they have also some different the table setting of these foods and the tool use to eat them. Italian food is served one dish at a time. When I eat Italian food, I am served salad and bread at first. After I finish eating them, I am served main food. On the other hand, Japanese food is served all dishes at the same time, and all of them have a specific place. Typically, five separate bowls and plates are set before the diner. There are two bowls nearest to the diner, the rice bowl on the left and the soup bowl on the right. The other bowls are side dishes. In addition, the eating utensils are different. Italian food uses knife and fork which are usually placed right side. In contrast, Japanese food uses chopsticks which are generally placed at the front of the diner. Consequently, there are quite different the table setting of these foods and utensils for these foods.

Finally, Italian food and Japanese food have the other difference which is the cooking style and ingredients used. There is sometimes difference the cooking of main dishes. Italian food usually consists of cooked ingredients heated from fire or electricity, but Japanese food is sometimes not cooked. This means that Japanese food often consists of raw meat and fish. Therefore, raw material is important, it is had to keep fresh when Japanese food cooks. Italian food also uses fresh material to cook, but it is not more important than Japanese food. Moreover, Italian food uses garlic and many kinds of herbs as spice. Even though these are very strong spice, they are necessary to cook Italian food. Japanese food also uses some spices, such as ginger, perilla and wasabi, but these spices are not strong. In addition, Italian food is seasoned with salt which is used as the main spice. In the other hand, Japanese food is seasoned with soy sauce and soybean paste. As a result, these differences found in cooking and ingredients show a considerable difference between Italian food and Japanese food.

Even though these are very strong spice, they are necessary to cook Italian food. Japanese food also uses some spices, such as ginger, perilla and wasabi, but these spices are not strong. Italian food and Japanese food are both very delicious, and a lot of people enjoy these cuisines. They have some similarities that are very healthy and use a lot of vegetables. However, Italian food is quite different from Japanese food when it comes to the table setting and the utensils used. The cooking process and ingredients are also considerably different. While Italian food resembles Japanese food in some points, there are several distinctions. If you eat either of these foods, you will be able to enjoy characteristics of them.

This is the ‘mistake’ we ordered. A Japanese pizza which doesn’t seem to have any dough but cheese mixed with some sweetish, teppanayaki sauce and lots of that paper-thin cuttle-fish. My kid who ordered it refused to eat it and I can only manage to swallow one mouthful. Ewws…sorry, I just cannot stomach it. We pack it home and one hungry son who did not join us walloped this RM15 pizza-wannabe.


The bowl of green tea icecream and red beans which I had to fight with my kids over it. Because it is THAT GOOD. The green tea is not sweet at all but a bit bitter with strong taste of green tea. The red beans sweetness balance it, making it the best one I had tasted so far. (ok, I don’t always eat at Japanese restaurant)

If I am not too lazy to re-size more photos, I will post about the deco of this place. It is a Japanese restaurant worth checking out. Classy unlike the mass production sushi bars. There is another branch in Penang at Krystal Place in Bayan Baru.
